Well, this post is kind of “off-topic” because it’s about cars – not portraits, not fashion. Why that?

As curious as I am I went to a US-car-meeting (the “Nasco Yankee Meet”) in Falköping/Sweden where I took some snapshots which – against my expectations – turned out pretty nice in the end.

So I asked the guys of kwerfeldein.de – a pretty cool german photoblog – if they would like to post a story about it as an article on their blog. They liked the idea, I wrote some lines and here we go.

The idea to create a sailor’s editorial has been on my list for quite a while now.

First, because I live near to Hamburg – the city with one of the biggest harbours in Germany which affects the everyday life in the town until today. Second, because joining a ship as a sailor and traveling the world meant and still means the way to freedom and adventure for generations of young men from all over the world. Escaping the restraints at home, the prospect of a new beginning, discovering the unknown and strange beyond the horizons.

This romantic longing for distant lands and foreign countries should be captured by the images.
