I have been pretty busy in the meantime but also had some rare spare time to do some tests and here is one of the results. It’s called “Play of colours” and the beautiful model is Lisa-Marie (@place models) who did a fantastic job in this shooting. The wonderful make-up was once again provided by Ann-Christin Galka and the gorgeous styling by Tatiana Calasans.

So there are many things to tell and I want to start today with a series called “The youth of today” which I started alongside some shootings and which turns out to become a much bigger project.

The idea behind “The youth of today” is to portrait 13 to 25 year old kids and young adults just the way they are. Pure, straight and simple. No makeup (exept for the one they already and usually wear), no styling, no props and no retouching in the post-production. These are the rules.

The photos are taken almost immediatley after they come to the studio while we have a little talk to get to know each other.

I really love the results of the first shootings and think about extending this project over the next time. Below you can see a selection of some photos of “The youth of today” – more of it on my portfolio website. Enjoy!

The wonderful simple and elegant styling was once more provided by Tatiana Calasans and Melek Acar cared for the nice makeup and hairstyling.

By the way: those who know “Hall & Oates” will have recognized that the titel of this shooting has been inspired by their wonderful song “Sara smile“.

First, because I live near to Hamburg – the city with one of the biggest harbours in Germany which affects the everyday life in the town until today. Second, because joining a ship as a sailor and traveling the world meant and still means the way to freedom and adventure for generations of young men from all over the world. Escaping the restraints at home, the prospect of a new beginning, discovering the unknown and strange beyond the horizons.

This romantic longing for distant lands and foreign countries should be captured by the images.

We tried several weird and unusal poses and I love how it turned out. The models (Marie  from Model-Management, Lisa from PMA and Will from Face Model Management) did an amazing job.

It was also my first shoot with Daniela Plesser who did the gorgeous hair and make-up. The wonderful outfits were provided by the up and coming designer Melanie Weigel from Hannover.
